Our Story

There's a difference between furniture you own and furniture you live around.

A table where the family gathers for Sunday dinner. A bench that's held muddy boots, sleeping dogs, and conversations that ran too long. That's what we build for — furniture meant to be part of your life, not just placed in a room and forgotten.

I started Dreamwood Designs because I love this. Building furniture people actually gather around — not disposable pieces meant to be replaced in a few years, but ones meant to be lived on, passed down, and cherished. I got tired of watching "furniture" mean pressed board dressed up to look like wood. I wanted no part of that.

So we build the other way: solid hardwood, hand-finished, one piece at a time — no assembly lines, no shortcuts, no mass-production. We are a small, veteran-owned business based in Arlington, Texas. We'd rather build fewer pieces and get every one of them exactly right than chase volume.

We didn't get into this to move fast or move a lot of product. We got into it because we love the work — taking raw lumber and turning it into something a family sits down at every night, something still standing long after the trend it was built during has faded. It's the same table I'd want in my own home, for my own family.

If you've spent years working toward the kind of life where the details matter — where you notice real craftsmanship and expect it — that's exactly who we built this for.

This is the kind of furniture we set out to build. It's still the only kind we make.
