Frequently Asked Questions
We're a small, veteran-owned workshop creating handmade, custom furniture in Arlington, TX. Every piece is built to order, which means clear communication is key. Below are our most common questions — if you don't see your answer, call/text us at 817-264-6025 or email creations@dreamwooddesigns.net.
How do I order?
Choose your style, size, wood, and finish right on the site. We recommend confirming your selections with us by phone, text, or Facebook message before checkout — that way there's no confusion on a big purchase. You're also welcome to place your order by calling or texting us directly.
I'm not sure what I need — can you help me decide?
Absolutely. Reach out and we'll walk through style, size, and finish options together based on your space, your family, and your budget. You're talking directly with the person building your furniture, not a sales rep.
Do you have a showroom I can visit?
We don't have a walk-in showroom, but shop visits can be scheduled by appointment — just reach out by email or phone call and we'll set up a time.
What should I know about Dreamwood Designs before ordering?
We're a small, veteran-owned shop — every piece is handcrafted, one at a time, by the same person you'll be talking to throughout your order. We're not a big-box operation, so lead times and communication matter. Check out our Cosmetic Standard page for what to expect from handcrafted, solid-wood furniture.
What finish options do you offer?
We offer a range of stains, paint, and a durable lacquer topcoat. If you don't see the exact finish you're looking for, just ask — we're happy to talk through options.
Do I have to pay extra to have my furniture stained?
Most stain and paint colors are included in your price. A few specialty options — like hand-distressing or a wood-matched base — carry an additional charge, shown right on the product page.
How does delivery work?
We don't ship — all orders are hand-delivered from our workshop in Arlington. Delivery is $150 flat within 30 miles, plus $3.50/mile beyond that. Delivery includes ground-floor placement only (no upstairs moves or installation). Please make sure your furniture will fit through your entryways before ordering, and inspect everything before signing the delivery sheet — once signed, we're not responsible for damage that happens after.
Can you hold or store my furniture if I'm not ready for it?
We'll check in with you before we start building to confirm you're ready. That's your window to delay production if needed. Once a piece is finished, though, we're not able to store it — so it helps to let us know early if your timeline shifts.
What are your payment options?
Pay in full online, or split it — 50% deposit to secure your spot in our production queue, 50% due upon completion (before delivery). We accept credit/debit cards, Zelle, and checks.
Do you have a warranty?
Yes — see The Dreamer's Promise for the full details. In short, it covers manufacturing defects like loose joints or breakage under normal use. It doesn't cover damage from mishandling, or the natural movement of wood from extreme temperature or humidity changes.
How do I protect my furniture and keep it looking great?
Wipe up spills promptly, use coasters and placemats for hot or wet items, and avoid harsh chemical cleaners on the finish. Solid wood will naturally expand and contract a little with the seasons — that's normal, not a defect.
How long does it take to receive my furniture after I order?
Typically 4–10 weeks, depending on our current queue and the complexity of your piece. Every estimate is just that — an estimate. We'd rather take the time to get it right than rush it out the door.
I need my order fast for an event — can you rush it?
We do offer rush orders for a fee, usually between $250–$750 depending on how soon you need it. Sometimes it just isn't possible to rush a build, but we'll always tell you honestly and try our best to get you there.
I already paid for my furniture but no longer want or need it — can I get a refund?
See our Refund Policy page for details.
What if I get my furniture and the color isn't quite what I expected?
Every piece is made to order, and every board takes stain a little differently — that's part of what makes solid wood furniture one-of-a-kind. We do our best to match your expectations, but slight variation is normal and not something we can control.
How do I make changes to my order?
Let us know within 48 hours of placing your order. After that, we may have already started sourcing material or building, so we're not able to make changes.
All sales are final, including deposits.
